Interests

I grew up in a small town that doesn't get out much — but my family traveled a lot for my dad's work. I think thats the reason I’m so fascinated by the world beyond Lake Mary.

I remember packing up bags of toys at nine years old to bring to kids in Cuba, and then watching half get confiscated by border agents before we even got there. That was the first time I really understood that the way I grew up isn't how most of the world grows up — and that good intentions don't always land the way you think they will.

I'm interested in business and the global economy for a similar reason: not the numbers, but how power actually moves between businesses and governments, and who ends up with a say in it and who doesn't. Right now, that means researching the situation for women in Afghanistan — reading past the headlines to understand what's actually changed for them, not just what's being reported.
